November 2022

I have taken a break from posting about my travel adventures.  Unfortunately we haven’t been able to travel as often as I would like, due to the whole Pandemic, which really kind of got me out of sync.  But I am back, playing catch-up, so I wanted to share our trip to Jamaica that we took in November of 2022.

We decided to book a trip to a resort this time, instead of a cruise.  In 2022, the whole pandemic was still thrust into our minds during travel, so I wanted to go somewhere without all the masking and vaccination restrictions.

It just so happened that our favorite travel partners (my sister Colleen and my brother-in-law Mike) had planned a dive vacation in Jamaica, and they invited us along.  Also on the trip were Sam and Troy, friends from Nova Scotia and our cousin Kelly and Andre and Andre’s family.

Although I could not partake in scuba diving, we still wanted to go to experience the resort and the all-inclusive ammenities.

We booked at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  We got a direct flight on American Airlines from Austin, Texas to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

It was different type of vacation than we were used to, but we had a blast.

Jamaica Iberostar Rose Hall Suites

Nestled along the pristine shores of Montego Bay, the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites offers a haven of luxury and relaxation in Jamaica. This all-inclusive resort, part of the renowned Iberostar chain, is a perfect blend of elegant architecture, modern amenities, and the enchanting natural beauty of the Caribbean. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway, a fun-filled family vacation, or a rejuvenating retreat, Iberostar Rose Hall Suites caters to every desire with its exceptional service and world-class facilities.

A Taste of Jamaican Elegance

The resort’s design pays homage to Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage while providing a contemporary and comfortable environment. The suites are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring private balconies or terraces that offer breathtaking views of the ocean or the lush gardens. Guests can choose from various room categories, including oceanfront suites and family suites, ensuring the perfect accommodation for every traveler’s needs.

Restaurants and Dining

We really enjoyed all of the food the resort had to offer.  The resort boasts a variety of restaurants, each offering a unique culinary experience. From the Mediterranean flavors at Mare Nostrum to the rich, savory dishes at Uncle Tony’s Steakhouse, there’s something to satisfy every palate. Guests can also enjoy Japanese cuisine at the Teppanyaki Restaurant, savor the tastes of Italy at the Italian Restaurant, or indulge in local Jamaican fare at the buffet. With multiple bars and a 24-hour room service option, food is always within reach.  If you go hungry here, it’s your fault, lol.

Endless Activities and Entertainment

Whether you prefer to relax by the pool or engage in thrilling activities, Iberostar Rose Hall Suites has something for everyone. The resort features a stunning infinity pool overlooking the ocean, a lazy river, and a splash park for kids. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy water sports, tennis, and beach volleyball, while the on-site dive center offers scuba diving and snorkeling adventures in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters.

We went snorkeling and parasailing.  It was the first time parasailing for both of us.  What an experience.  Would I do it again?  In a heart beat.

More pics from our trip.

Highly Recommend

Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and adventure. Its stunning location, exceptional amenities, and commitment to sustainability make it a top choice for travelers seeking a memorable Caribbean getaway. Whether lounging by the pool, exploring the underwater world, or indulging in gourmet cuisine, guests are guaranteed a vacation experience that exceeds their expectations.

The only part of the trip that I did not enjoy was the humidity.  With the cool air conditioned rooms and the humidity outside, I found it a bit difficult to do strenuous activities outside with my underlying medical condition.  However, the resort offered the service of a golf cart ride free for us when we had to go to the dive shop for our activities.  That was amazing.  I do recommend bringing a bathing suit for each day, as they do not fully dry even hanging in the bathroom.

I did end up falling sick on the 5th day of the trip and missed some restaurant reservations, which was a bummer, and Rick was fine until the flight home, when he fell ill too.  But, back home, we both bounced back pretty quickly.  I would recommend this resort after our experience.
